Australian cricketers are on edge barely a month before their first tour of
Pakistanin 24 years, amid an uptick in chaos and uncertainty.
are scheduled to play three Tests, three one-day internationals and one t20 Twenty match in Pakistan starting March 3.
Australia has not toured Pakistan since 1998 due to security concerns, instead playing its away matches in the United Arab Emirates.
Though some international touring sides have returned to
Pakistan in recent years, New Zealand abruptly halted a tour there in September citing security issues and England shortly afterwards cancelled a planned tour.Seasoned Australian pacer
says he won't be surprised if some of his national teammates refuse to tour Pakistan next month on security grounds.
On the other side, dozen of Australian, England players are participating in the ongoing PSL 2022 in Pakistan.
Those players have emphasised the importance of playing cricket in Pakistan and are verliy satisfied with the security and arrangements.
The most important thing is that most of the Australian players must realise that cricket is not all about playing in Boxing day test in Melbourne or day night test in Adelaide Oval, but it is beyond that.
Since Australian players have not played an away test series since 2019 ashes which emphasizes their urge to play in overseas especially in Asia. !?
Australian players need to rethink before making any detrimental decision for the sake of wtc points, especially for the betterment of test cricket.
As Pakistan is touring every country without any condition and excuses, Australia should keep this in mind for better board relations especially for the fans of this beautiful game.
